ROADSMITH Factory-Styled Body

When converting your Harley-Davidson, Honda, or Indian motorcycle to a trike, ROADSMITH ensures a design that looks like it belongs. We believe in respecting the original motorcycle’s aesthetic, seamlessly integrating the necessary trike components. This challenging process, mastered through our experience, delivers a trike that looks as good as it performs

The aim is to have our kits blend in so well that to the casual observer they could easily pass as another model offered by the manufacturer that produces the original base motorcycle.

On the other hand, adding all the aforementioned stuff isnโ€™t purely a hinderance, as it allows for the machine to carry much more weight and still perform at its peak. Plus it means the rider no longer has to worry about keeping the added weight balanced at slow speeds or when stopped.

The additional size also gives us the ability to add things like increased storage space in our trunk, air-ride adjustable suspension and auxiliary gas tanks. Plus, all of our kits come with the receiver style trailer hitch built in.

Hence, you can see the investment we make in our designs to both work well with the host bike and look great while doing it.

Design Process

Modern computer technology has revolutionized vehicle design, enabling us to achieve unparalleled precision in our trike conversions. We now scan original motorcycle components, allowing us to design bodywork that integrates flawlessly. Gone are the days of laborious trial-and-error with foam and fiberglass; we can now visualize and refine designs in 3D, ensuring perfect fitment before physical production. While this advanced process is neither quick nor inexpensive, ROADSMITH believes this investment is crucial for producing high-volume, long-lasting models. This technology allows for intricate designs and accuracy previously unattainable. Furthermore, 3D printing aids in tactile design testing. For example, we used a 1/12th scale model of the HTS1800 with 3D-printed ROADSMITH body and wing guards to visualize the final product. The next step involves creating a life-sized wooden pattern for fiberglass mold production. This pattern, meticulously polished, serves as the foundation for production molds, ensuring consistent, high-quality reproductions for years to come
