September Trike of the Month

Congratulations Joe and Kelly Paul!

Each year while attending the various rallies around the country, we have a chance to meet some of the great folks that have become Roadsmith customers over the years.  In addition to the people, we also get see some amazing trikes, built and/or customized by trike enthusiasts like ourselves.  This month’s Trike of the Month is just such an example!

We met Joe and Kelly Paul at this year’s Americade Rally in Lake George, NY and were immediately impressed with the trike kit that Joe, an owner/operator truck driver, had built himself.  While we always encourage our customers to work closely with a dealer to have their trike kits installed, there are occasions when a talented mechanic wishes to make his own way with one of our kits and this is one of those instances.

The trike you see here was built entirely by Joe and then modified to include some pretty clever and tasteful additions.  Joe is clearly a fabricator, based on what we’ve seen, but we’d even go so far as to call him an inventor!  His creation of a lighted chrome strip that fits nicely into the trailer hitch receiver is brilliant and something in which many of our customers might be interested.  In addition to the trick lighting and chrome, he added a very cool blue reflective strip behind the Roadsmith chrome band which really finished off the look and feel of the trike.

At 62 years old, with 55 years of riding under his belt, Joe says that he and Kelly couldn’t be happier with their Roadsmith HT1800 kit on their 2010 Honda Gold Wing.  They obviously did a lot of research before finally choosing a Roadsmith and his comment that “there is no comparison in quality to any other trike kits out there and the ease of putting it on was unbelieveable” was one we didn’t mind hearing a bit.

Many thanks to Joe and Kelly for sharing their story and their Roadsmith trike!  We hope to see them both again soon.

Attention: Customers and Dealers, please send your trike photos, with any accompanying stories, to Doug Lindholm to be considered for future Trike of the Month Awards.  Winners will, in most cases, be used in our national advertising campaign as well as promoted heavily on the website and our Facebook Fan Page.
