September Trike of the Month


Harley-Davidson and Honda come together on a trike!

Congratulations Les Coughtry!

















OK, so the headline is a little misleading… but stay with us for a minute and we’ll tell you what we mean. This month’s Trike of the Month Winner is our good friend, Les Coughtry, from Norfolk, NE. Les’s trike is a 2008 Honda Gold Wing with a Roadsmith HT1800 kit installed on it in 2010 by our other good friend and dealer, Mike Cornett, formerly of Nebraska and recently relocated to Alabama. 


Back when Mike was installing kits in Nebraska, he built Les’s first trike which was from one of our competitors. It seems that the competitor’s trike was not meant to be as it was destroyed when an inattentive driver ran into the back of it. Ironically, Les says “That was one of the best things that ever happened to me, because I ended up on a Roadsmith.”


















Les wanted an unusual paint scheme on his new trike so, after having ridden a loaner Roadsmith Harley-Davidson trike while his was being built, he must have gotten a little bite from the Harley bug and asked that his new trike use a Harley paint color on it (hence our title of Harley and Honda coming together). Well, the end result was a real show stopper. You can’t see it in this photo, but this trike is painted Harley-Davidson Black Ice, which is one of the “illusion” colors, and the bike changes magically from blue to black to purple as you watch it go by. It’s a real beauty and certainly worthy of our Trike of the Month Award.


Being retired and a former Marine Corporal, Les loves to attend the various rallies around the country on his one-of-kind Roadsmith Trike and we always look forward to seeing him. Congratulations and thanks to Les and Mike for building and sharing this beautiful trike!
